Junior Year
We begin working with students at the start of junior year, laying the groundwork for a thoughtful and organized college search. When helpful, we use assessments to better understand each student’s strengths, college readiness, and potential
career paths.
Together, we create a personalized testing plan—helping students decide whether to test, when, and how to prepare. We also meet with students and parents to discuss goals and priorities, which shape an initial college list. With our guidance, students research schools and, when possible, visit campuses to get a sense of size, location, student body, and general vibe. As junior year wraps up, we work closely with each student to narrow their list, ensuring they are well-positioned for the work ahead.
Senior Year
The summer before senior year is a busy one! Having narrowed the initial college list, we arrive at the student's Apply List (the colleges they intend to apply to) and ensure parents are on board. Students complete reflection and brainstorming exercises to uncover meaningful experiences, values, roles, and achievements, which become the foundation for compelling essays. We help students select their strongest ideas, weave them into interesting stories, and craft them into polished Personal Statements and supplemental essays.
As senior year begins, we develop a clear application strategy and keep students on track—managing essays and applications, securing letters of recommendation, and sending transcripts and test scores.
